Toner cartridges and drum units are sold separately This Brother printer uses a toner cartridge and drum unit to create a print. The toner cartridge holds toner powder and the drum unit transfers the toner powder to the page by applying heat and pressure. Toner cartridges are usually the first to go, while the drum unit usually needs to be replaced after the use of 3 or 4 toner cartridges. Your printer will bring up a message on your display when it is time to replace!
We have included installation instructions for the TN433 cartridge series on our support page. You can find more information about the difference between a toner cartridge and a drum unit on our blog.
